Department of Chemical Engineering A research position is available, on a temporary basis, in a sponsored project from Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, entitled: Immobilized Enzyme Membrane Reactor for Conversion of Lactose to Galacto-Oligo Saccharides (GOS) Objective of the work: Functional foods (GOS & FOS) are a burgeoning growth industry. The object is to examine the production of GOS from lactose utilizing immobilized enzymatic Membrane Reactor (EMR). Desirability: The work requires extensive experimentations to observe the influence of variables for enzymatic conversion of lactose to GOS under immobilized enzymatic conditions using commercially available enzymes as well as utilizing several EMR module configurations. Post: Senior Project Associate Salary Range: Rs. 12,000 – 1,200 – 24,000 [M.Sc.-M. Tech. OR B. Tech. + 2 years experience] Qualification: • M.Sc.-M. Tech. OR B. Tech. + 2 years experience in Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering or Equivalent with aptitude in kinetic modelling and analysis. • For excellent candidate, an initial salary up to Rs. 15,600/- (consolidated) may be considered. The appointment will be for One year (initially) and may be extendable up to Three years. .
