Inviting Applications For Faculty Positions
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) invites applications to various academic groups (please refer to the Faculty & Research page in IIMC website for information on the academic groups at IIMC) from candidates of exceptional academic background for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor on Contract. IIMC, the first national level management school in India, was set up by the Government of India in 1961. Today it is recognized as leading management school not only in India but in the Asia-Pacific region with regard to its quality of teaching and research. The Institute provides a very congenial environment for academic work and scholarship with a strong emphasis on research. IIMC has consistently laid emphasis on high quality research that is proven by the scholarly output in reputed peer reviewed journals. This has resulted in the Institute being internationally recognized as a strong research oriented one as evidenced by the number of research articles by IIMC faculty that feature in UT Dallas Ranking, Google Scholar and Science Direct. All candidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field (with a first class in the preceding degree) and publications in reputed peer reviewed journals. Base salary is as per guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Institute also offers opportunities to excel in other activities related to management education, including training and consulting. Candidates who have just completed their doctoral degree but have no work experience should demonstrate adequate proof of their research and publication potential. Such candidates, i.e., with no relevant work experiences, would be considered only for an Assistant Professor on Contract position. Candidates with prior appropriate academic experience may also apply for Full Time Visiting Faculty positions. For permanent position, the work experience requirement is as follows:

Please ensure that your application is accompanied by a covering letter and signed confidential reports (up to two pages length for each report) from the referees mentioned above. Each signed confidential report must be provided in a sealed envelope with the signature of the respective referee across the flap of the envelope. In case of applying by e-mail, the application should be sent to director@iimcal.ac.in. In the case of applications by e-mail, the confidential report must be sent directly by the referee from their email id (the one mentioned in the application) todirector@iimcal.ac.in.
