HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY : NAGPUR BENCH : NAGPUR REQUIRES STENOGRAPHERS (HIGHER GRADE )/JULY 2011

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for preparing Select List of 2 candidates
and Wait List of 2 candidates for the post of   Stenographer ( Higher Grade ) in the Office of the
Registrar (Administration), High Court of Bombay, Nagpur Bench, Nagpur in the  Pay  Band of Rs.
9300 ­34800 + G.P. 4400/­ and other allowances as admissible under the Rules.  3 % of the posts are
reserved for class of persons with disability as per High Court Notification No. X­2319/71, dated 20th
November, 2009.


Candidates should send their applications in the following prescribed proforma by Registered
Post or Speed Post  only in an envelope superscribed with the words  “APPLICATION FOR THE
POST OF STENOGRAPHER ( HIGHER GRADE)” , so as to reach  by 5.00 p. m., on or before
 31st July 2011.The candidates should note that the applications received thereafter or sent by any
other mode such as ordinary post or by hand delivery or by currier will not be considered.


ELIGIBILITY  :­ 
1) The candidates must not less than 21 years and more than 33 years of age.  However the maximum
age limit shall not be applicable to High Court/Government employees,  and 38 years in case of
candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class specified for the
time being by the Government of Maharashtra, as on the date of advertisement.
2) Possess University Degree.  Preference  being given to candidates possessing  Degree in Law.
However, this  condition  will be   relaxed if  the candidate is  already working as    Stenographer
(Lower Grade) for not less than 5 years  in the High Court or any other Court or Tribunal or in the
Office of Advocate General or Government Pleader.
3) Possess   Government   Commercial   Certificate   Examination   or   Examination   conducted   by
Government, Board or  I.T.I., for atleast speed of 100 W.P.M. or above  In English Shorthand and
40 W.P.M., in English Typing.
4) Possess  Computer  certificate  Diploma/Decree  in  Computer  Operation  Course  of  minimum six
months duration issued by DOEACC,  C­DAC  or  MS­CIT or  University.


Candidate shall be selected on the basis of examination in Shorthand, Typing and Viva
Voce.  The tests shall consist of the following three parts.
PART – I  :­ Dictated passage for transcription for the purpose of testing the speed in
Shorthand.
PART – II :­ The passage for typing for the purpose of testing the Speed in Typing.
PART – III :­ Viva­voce.


DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED:
1) Applications should be in own handwriting of the applicants  in the prescribed
format.
2) The application should also bear latest passport self­attested photograph of the
candidate.
3) Xerox copies of  certificates duly attested regarding matriculation, graduation,
law­graduation, if any.
4) Xerox copy  of certificate duly attested regarding proficiency in Shorthand and
Typing.
5) Xerox copy  of certificate duly attested, about prescribed  Computer  Knowledge
issued by reputed institution mentioned above.
6) Xerox copy of certificate regarding caste certificate, duly attested in the case of
candidate belonging to reserved category.
7) Certificate or proof of date of Birth.
8) Two Character Certificates of respectable persons.
9) The candidates shall produce originals of the above documents at the time of
test.
10) The xerox copies of certificates attached to the application should be attested by
the  Gazetted Officer/Special Executive Magistrate/Notary or by Sarpanch.
High Court reserves its right to do the short listing at any stage and by appropriate
