Qualifications:
The candidate must be a postgraduate in M.Sc (Physics) with minimum 55% marks. CSIR/GATE
qualified candidates are preferable. Students having a course on particle physics at the M.Sc level or
seriously interested to pursue research in experimental particle physics are encouraged to apply.
The Project and scope of research: The vast area of reaserch is Experimental Hadron Physics.
The experimental setup consists of the COSY (COoler SYnchrotron at Juelich, Germany) and the
WASA detector system. Experiments related to the present project will be performed at Juelich and
the candidate needs to stay there for about three months every year to participate in the experiments,
collect data and interact with other collaborators of the WASA-at-COSY group. The remaining time
will be devoted in analysing the data at IIT Indore. Travel and fellowship at Germany will be provided
from the project budget.
Fellowship: Rs. 18,000 + 3600 (HRA) per month in India and
1300 Euro per month while in Germany.
Duration: 2 years + 1 year possible extension depending on progress.
