in an equivalent position or at least 6 years experience in any of the following position:-

Management Position or in an equivalent position or at least 6 years experience in any of the following positions :-
(a) Heads of Divisions at ICAR Institutes.
(b) Heads of Regional Stations of ICAR Institutes.
(c) Project Coordinator.
(d) Zonal Coordinator.
(e) National Coordinator, NAIP

Desirable:- The candidate should have demonstrated scientific leadership and skill in research management with a
broad vision and perspective of agricultural research.
(Note:- If a candidate has less than 3 years experience in a research management position and has experience of
working in position/s listed at (ii) (a) to (f) then a weightage equal to half of the service rendered in position/s listed
at (ii) (a) to (f) shall be added to the candidate’s actual RMP experience to determine eligibility for these posts).
Duties:- (i) To formulate and supervise Council’s policies and research work relating to the field of horticultural
sciences.
(ii) To coordinate and stimulate operational research programmes and demonstration related to horticulture.
(iii) To assist the Director General and other Officers of the ICAR in implementing approved programmes of
research.
(iv) To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Council from time to time.

coordinating research projects in the field of Horticulture particularly for Fruit Crops, Plantation Crops
and Post Harvest Technology and other Horticultural Crops.
(ii) To assist and advice DDG (Horticulture) on technical and administrative matters referred to the
Council.
(iii) To remain in close touch with the Research Institutes, Agricultural Universities and Coordinated
Projects etc. in the discipline of Horticulture, study of technical programmes and reports, if any, by
occasional visits so that he could give support at Headquarters to the functioning of research projects.
(iv) To act as Technical Secretary of Scientific Panels, Research Review Teams or any other research
review groups.
(v) To maintain a record of research in progress within his Branch and arrange Advisory Boards,
Committee Meetings, Seminars, Workshop etc. of research workers to facilitate coordination in research.

Qualifications Essential :-(i) Doctoral degree in any discipline pertaining to Crop Science including
relevant basic sciences.
ii) A Scientist in the pay scale of (`16400-20000) (pre-revised) or in an equivalent position.
OR
8 years experience as a Senior Scientist (`12000-18300) (pre-revised) or in an equivalent position.
OR
An eminent scientist having proven record of scientific contribution working in a reputed
organization/institute having at least 13 years experience in the relevant subject.
iii) Evidence of publication/activities/contribution to suggest that the candidate has a broad vision /
perspective on agricultural research.
Desirable:- Specialization and experience in Oilseed research.
Duties:- (i) To coordinate, monitor and supervise the project on linseed, encourage inter disciplinary
research work on intra and inter centre level.
(ii) To prepare and present reports and formulation and execution of research plans for concerned crops.
(iii) Any other activities/responsibilities assigned by the ICAR.
