Bharat Oman Refineries Limited (BORL)  is a Company promoted by  Bharat
Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Fortune 500 Indian Navaratna Oil Company, with
equity participation from  Oman Oil Company, Oman, and  Government of Madhya
Pradesh.  BORL has set up a 6 MMTPA grass-root petroleum refinery at Bina in
Madhya Pradesh, India. The commercial production has commenced from May 2011.

Manager (HR)

industry.
The incumbent is expected to conduct timely safety meetings in Safety and Other Departments,
preparation of safety report, analyzing the accident trends / compliance status / assisting safety
audit / third party audit & helping in compilation of statutory compliance.

 Effective implementation of safety system in the area .

Assistant Manager (Fire)

Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech Graduate in Fire Engineering or
Chemical Engineering with experience of 3-6 years in Refinery / Petrochemicals / Fertilizers
industry.
The incumbent is expected to man the Fire Station round-the-clock and respond to all
emergency calls in the complex, ensure the adequacy & healthiness of fire protection and
prevention systems in the complex.

Job  Responsibilities:
 Man the fire station round-the-clock
 To attend all types of emergency calls within the complex
 Responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance of all fire prevention and protection
measures in the complex
 To ensure proper implementation of documentation and record management
 To assist in the formation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
 To compile data and generate comprehensive reports regarding any occurrence /
incident during the shift
 Conduct training programs of all employees as well as contract persons in fire fighting
To carry out inspection of materials procured from the commercial department
To identify proper requirement and installations of the fire nfighting equipments in the
complex
Educate and appraise the contract fire personnel regarding hazards & dangerous
properties of various chemicals in the complex and safe procedures to tackle such
emergencies
Evaluation of design and drawings related to the fire fighting installations in the complex
To participate in the mock drills
Develop, monitor and ensure the filling of all related formats and checklist
To carry out the Fire Risk Assessment for the critical areas for any hot work
Maintain the inventory status of the fire extinguishing media and fire fighting equipment
Develop and maintain reporting systems on daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
To assist in handling emergencies outside the Refinery facilities, if called for

Assistant Manager (Quality Assurance)
Position Code: 05    No. of Vacancies:  01    Location: Bina 


Desired Profile:  Post graduate in Chemistry with 10-15 years’ analytical experience in
Refineries or Petrochemical Laboratories, with 2 years’ experience as a Group Leader or shiftin-charge; should possess skills such as adaptability, leadership, and communication; should be
willing to work in shifts


Job Responsibilities: 
Monitor and review the day-to-day Laboratory activities such as analysis of crude oil and
petroleum products
Supervision and involvement in the testing activities of crude oil, petroleum products and
water analysis
Review the test results and preparation of quality certificates for finished petroleum
products
Development of test methods
Keep the equipments in good working condition and trouble shoot, following best
Laboratory practices
Train and guide the juniors
Well acquainted with operation of Petroleum Testing instruments, GC’s ICP, AAS, HPLC
and Furnace based instruments
Have adequate knowledge on Quality Systems and Procedures
Should be aware of International Test procedures like ASTM, IP, DIN, UOP etc.
Have to work in shifts round-the-clock
Ability to co-ordinate with Process Dept. & Tank farm  and assist them in day-to-day
operations  
Have good knowledge on calibration procedures of Analytically Instruments
Aware of Industrial Safety procedures in Petroleum Refinery

Assistant Manager (Fire & Safety)
Position Code: 06    No. of Vacancies:  01     Location: Vadinar, Dist. Jamnagar, Gujarat

Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech Graduate in Fire Engineering
with experience of 3-6 years in Refinery / Petrochemical / Fertilizers industry or Terminal.
The incumbent is expected to ensure functions of Fire & Safety covering areas such as safety
meetings, safety checklists, co-ordination with other Departments, statutory authorities, mock
drills, mutual aid programs, round-the-clock monitoring of Fire Station, respond to all emergency
calls in the complex and  to ensure the adequacy & healthiness of fire protection and prevention
systems in the complex. The areas include preparation of safety report, analyzing the accident

Manager (Terminal)
Position Code: 07     No. of Vacancies: 01     Location: Vadinar, Dist. Jamnagar, Gujarat 


Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech Graduate in Mechanical /
Electrical Engineering with minimum of 14-16  years’ experience in Petroleum Oil Terminal /

Depot Operation and Maintenance. Exposure to off-shore petroleum product terminal operation
is essential.
Knowledge of overall maintenance activities of terminal station, independent handling with
statutory authorities, permits, contract handling for various tank maintenance, station
maintenance, pump house maintenance and pipeline operations is essential. The person should
have specific knowledge of tank farm maintenance, knowledge of oil accounting, and dipping /
gauging of tanks. Experience of SPM operation and maintenance will be an added advantage.


Job Responsibilities: 
Co-ordinate for tanker scheduling with IT, Shipping agents, Planning Dept. etc.
Co-ordinate tanker berthing program and liaison with  Port Control, Pilot, Pull back
vessel supplier & GMB for smooth berthing of the vessel
Co-ordinate tanker boarding operations
In case of requirement, assist in planning of tanks for receipt  in consultation with
Pipeline group and Refinery schedule for receipt of Crude oil through joint dipping
Co-ordinate with officers attending crude receipt  operations & boarding officer
Assist in 24-hour manning during receipt operations and responsible for monitoring of
Port Control Room activities and reporting
Monitor the activities of Oil Accounting, covering areas of Sampling, Water draining,
Dipping
Co-ordinate with finance for timely payments of Port dues, Custom Duty and other
necessary formalities for smooth berthing of the vessel without demurrage
Responsible for developing SPM Maintenance schedules
Co-ordinate with Surveyor for proper on-shore and off-shore attendance
Jetty operation co-ordination
Custom boarding co-ordination (Shipping agency / CHA of BORL)
Major SPM Maintenance planning and co-ordination with shipping dept., Refinery etc.
Monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly schedule report review and random checks
Spare consumption checks & ensuring availability of SPM spares including generating
indents for spare procurement, evaluation of offers etc. in line with schedule
maintenance requirement and OCIMF recommendations
SPM spare management
Responsible for co-ordination with Forest Department and attending various
Environmental issues, Sea water sampling activity, NIO etc.
Co-ordinate with GPCB for ensuring compliance to various permissions given to COT
with reference to Marine operations
Responsible for 100% availability of Oil Spill facility operation and management
maintenance and other related activities
Co-ordinate with statutory agencies for off-shore security
Liaison with Fisheries, Port Authorities, DG shipping, Coast guards etc.
Ensure all statutory clearance for SPM operations such as NSPC, ISPS compliance etc.
Any other additional job assignments or responsibilities, as the case may be, in the

Assistant Manager (Strategy & Refinery Planning)
Position Code: 08    No. of Vacancies:  03    Location: Bina 


Desired Profile: BTech / BE Fire or Chemical Engineering from a reputed university with about
3-7 years’ experience in economical planning in any oil refinery. Job involves crude selection &
evaluation and monitoring financial & economic performance of International Supplies & Trading
of Petroleum Products.


Manager (Strategy & Refinery Planning)
Position Code: 09    No. of Vacancies: 01    Location: Bina 


Desired Profile: First Class Degree in Chemical Engineering from reputed university with about
10-14 years’ experience in Operation / Technical  services of an operating oil refinery, out of
which 3-4 years’ experience in independently guiding the process team in operating or
monitoring various process parameters in different process  plants. The candidate should be
experienced in refinery scheduling and product planning. In addition, the candidate shall be
proficient in working with scheduling & planning softwares, use of PIMS for evaluation and
selection of crude oils, shipping related issues, GRM analysis, preparation of refinery business
plan, etc.


Manager (Mechanical Maintenance)

Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech Graduate in Mechanical
Engineering with 10-14 years’ experience in planning, scheduling and executing planned
maintenance, breakdown and preventive maintenance in Oil Refinery / Petrochemicals /
Fertilizers industry. Experience in pre-commissioning and post-commissioning activities
preferred. Budgeting, resource management and expertise in managing contracts would be an

Manager (Commercial)

Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech from a reputed institution with
minimum 10-14 years’ experience in procurement, purchase, warehousing and contract
management in a large industrial unit / hydrocarbon processing plant / organization. Experience
in dealing with Customs, Central Excise, Export / Import procedures & statutory authorities

Desired Profile: The desired incumbent should be BE / BTech in Fire & Safety from National
Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur. For Vice President, 20-25 years’ experience and for Asst.
